Come and get flowery with us in the garden and learn how to make one of our signature fresh flower head dresses. We will teach you how to select the best blooms for the job and show you how to create your very own flower crown to take home.
This one-day workshop will introduce you to the basics of traditional signwriting (layout and design, lettering and shading) in which the techniques are first demonstrated to you and then practised by you. At the end of the workshop each participant will have undertaken their own panel, to take home. All materials are provided.
Growing up spending summers travelling with a steam fairground has heavily influenced Amy’s practice as a traditional signwriter and fairground artist, thus the traditions and heritage of the fairground industry – the elaborate and visual typography, flamboyant colours and meticulous lines – are reflected in both her commissions and own practice. Amy works extensively in the heritage industry and is passionate about giving an insight into the skills, techniques and love of signwriting.
Join us for an evening of floral appreciation along with a delicious supper. You will pick the best fresh blooms from the garden and create your own beautiful displays or sculptures to take away.
Meanwhile supper will have been prepared and with the table decorated with your displays you can sit back and enjoy an evening filled with laughter and delicious delights.
Due to licensing issues, please feel free to bring your own wine but I am unable to provide any alcohol with the meal.
